Australian holidaymakers in Bali were busy rearranging their flights home today after the failure of Air Paradise International, Bali’s home-grown carrier.
Both Qantas and Australian Airlines have committed to repatriate passengers booked on Air Paradise.
Passengers holding Air Paradise tickets who have yet to leave Australia will have to wait for the result of an investigation by corporate recovery specialists, Korda Mentha, who have been called in to assist the stricken carrier.
Korda Mentha said the airline was not in administration or liquidation, but conceded it could not guarantee that pre-paid tickets to Bali would be honoured.
Air Paradise ticket holders due to depart in the next fortnight are being advised to book flights on other airlines at their own expense or reschedule their holiday bookings until the review had been completed.
The airline has also suspended payments to all of its creditors
