Appeasing the Wrath of God Ceremony

Sunday, 4/15/2007, thousand of Hindu devotees attended the Bendu Piduka (appeasing the wrath of God) ceremony. This ceremony was held to restore the holiness of Yeh Poh estuary. Yeh Poh estuary is a sacred source of holy water located in Northern Kuta. This estuary had been framed with concrete block by an investor but this framing was opposed by local citizens and considered as an act of disturbing the harmony of nature and holiness of the sacred estuary.
This ceremony was held to appease the wrath of the God and his servants who resides in this sacred estuary, for fear that the God and his servant will disturb the local citizens. In addition to the ceremony, hundred of turtle hatchling was released to the sea as a symbol of preservation of the nature.
