Indonesia’s Reaction on European Union Ban on Indonesian Airlines

Indonesian Government, according to the transportation minister Juysman Syafei Jamal said that Indonesia is very disappointed with last week’s European Union ban on Indonesian airlines. Indonesian aviation and tourism authorities are beginning to question the timing, methodology and motivation of the move. Indonesia is beginning to feel the impact of the ban as European tourists are being advised by travel agents to cancel their domestic flights for scheduled visits to other Indonesian cities.

Indonesian flagship carrier Garuda Indonesia said it has carried out various improvement and safety enhancement measures in accordance with international certification requirements.
