SBY to work from Bali during UN meet
November 1st, 2007

JAKARTA: President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will set up office in Bali during the UN climate change conference in December.

“The President will move to Bali during the conference, but we have not yet set the schedule,” Cabinet Secretary Sudi Silalahi told detik.com Wednesday.

Indonesia will host the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the world’s highest talks on climate change, in Bali from Dec. 3 to 14.

Around 10,000 participants, including heads of state, ministers, senior officials and activists, from 198 countries are expected to participate in the meeting.

Coordinating Minister for the People’s Welfare Aburizal Bakrie said the President might set up office in Bali from Dec. 10 to 14 when heads of state from other countries take part in the conference.

“But the President will visit Bali frequently a week before the opening of the conference,” he said. –JP
