The demolition of Yeh Poh estuary frame got a green lightfrom the Governor of Bali and the demolition process has been carried out bythe investor. The government urged the investor to finish the demolition of theframe as soon as possible.
For Balinese Yeh Poh estuary is a sacred source of holywater and venue for religious activities of the neighboring area because notonly it is an estuary but also a meeting of two rivers (campuan). The framingof Yeh Poh estuary by the investor enraged the surrounding community since itwas considered as a blasphemy to the holiness of this place.
The demolition of the Yeh Poh estuary frame marked the rarevictory of community over the investor in preserving the environment, but this singlevictory is shadowed by hundreds of defeats all over Bali.
