The royal cremation of Anak Agung Oka Jelantik was held on Sunday, 06/10/2007. Thousands of mourners from all over Bali came to pay homage to the son of the late King of Karangasem.

The cremation of former ambassador of Indonesia for five Latin America countries was held in the afternoon. Under the scorching sun, nine-storey-roofed cremation tower was brought slowly to the cremation ground on the shoulders of retainers. Trees that had grown on the side of the street slowed down the advance of the cremation tower and had to be cut off by the retainers.

The late Anak Agung Oka Jelantik was former ambassador of Indonesia for Chilli, Argentine, Uruguay, and Paraguay. He mastered eight languages and received The Great Cross of the Order of May of Argentina, Great Cross of Bernado O’Higgins of Chile, and the Lencana Karya Satya of Indonesia. On his retirement, he went back to his hometown, Karangsem and dedicated all his life to the welfare of the society.
