Indonesia1s minister of Culture and Tourism Jero Wacik shared his confidence in Bali’s recovery at the PATA Annual conference.
“Bali moves in the right direction, thanks to the support of the trade and the media”, he said.
Before the October bombing, Bali received some 5,000 tourists daily. This went down to 1,000 in November before hitting 2,500 in March. But since April, it’s up to 4,000 tourists per day, he said. The government will relax visa rules to attract more foreign visitors and visas-on-arrival will be granted to Dutch and Swedish citizens. Days of validity have been extended from 3 to 7 days for the US$10 visa and now the authorities are looking to extend the length of stay for the US$25 visa from 30 to 90 days.
